Sheila A. Eller is an elementary principal in Mounds View Public Schools in Minnesota. A renowned author, consultant, and trainer, she works with educators to develop energised staff meetings, school-improvement initiatives, team-teaching strategies and employee supervision plans. She specialises in working with difficult and resistant people and developing and implementing multiage instruction. Previously, Sheila was an elementary principal in Fairfax County Public Schools in Virginia, a middle school principal in Mounds View Public Schools, and a principal in other schools in Minnesota and Illinois. She has also been a university professor, a special education teacher, a Title 1 math teacher, a multiage teacher and a self-contained classroom teacher for grades 1–4.
Sheila coauthored the best-selling ITALICS Energizing Staff Meetings and Creative Strategies to Transform School Culture. At National-Louis University in Evanston, Illinois, she worked on the development team for a classroom mathematics series that was adopted by several districts in the region, and her classroom and instructional techniques were featured on a video produced to complement this series.
An active member of professional organisations, Sheila has been a member of the executive board of Minnesota ASCD and regularly presents at national ASCD conventions. She is a former regional president of the Minnesota Association of Elementary School Principals.
Sheila has completed advanced coursework in educational administration and supervision at St. Cloud State University. She holds a master’s degree from Creighton University and a bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University.
