Extensions in Mathematics

Extension Exercises for CAMS & STAMS (Levels A–H)

Strengthen problem-solving and key maths skills with the Extensions in Mathematics series, where students build computational fluency and conceptual understanding through:

  • Writing to explain solutions
  • Problem solving practice
  • Graphic organisers
  • Numbers in real-world contexts
  • Assessment with embedded test prep
  • Challenge problems and class projects

With step-by-step instruction and thorough practice to support students, they will develop into strategic, thoughtful and confident thinkers. In Extensions in Mathematics students are guided in applying strategies used by successful thinkers and then fill in graphic organisers as they learn how each strategy connects to ideas and information in numeracy.

Lessons focus on one skill at a time, using one or more graphic organisers such as:

  • Grids
  • Pie Charts
  • Flow Charts
  • Tables
  • Place-value Charts
  • Number Lines
  • Coordinate Graphs
  • Venn Diagrams
  • Schedules, Calenders, Maps
  • Spreadsheets
  • Rulers and Protractors
  • Line Graphs
  • Geometric Figures
