Description

Sandra Herbst is a noted system leader, author, speaker, and consultant with almost 20 years of experience in education. She has worked in both elementary and secondary schools and is a former classroom and specialty teacher, school administrator, program consultant, and assistant superintendent of a large urban school district. Sandra is also a past President of the Manitoba Association of School Superintendents and the Manitoba ASCD Affiliate.

Sandra has facilitated professional learning in schools, districts, and organizations across North America in the areas of leadership, curriculum development, instruction, assessment, and evaluation. Her school and district experience provides opportunities for dialogue and discussion that, while rooted in research, are deeply connected to practical and possible strategies and approaches. She was particularly drawn to the field of assessment for learning because of the results she observed in classrooms, schools and systems. She is the co-author of books on the topic of assessment, including Leading the Way to Making Classroom Assessment Work and Transforming Barriers to Assessment for Learning.
