Lisa Almeida is a senior professional development associate and mentor in the area of standards and assessments. As former district administrator with Albuquerque Public Schools in New Mexico, Lisa’s primary responsibility was standards implementation throughout the district. She also served Albuquerque Public Schools as an elementary assistant principal. She was a classroom teacher and guidance teacher for the Omaha Public School District in Nebraska. Throughout her teaching career, Lisa worked with children with diverse backgrounds and learning needs, including English learners, at a variety of grade levels.
Lisa continues to support teaching and learning in Albuquerque Public Schools by working with teachers and students in a variety of schools, as well as school and district administrators. She is recognized as a distinguished presenter at a variety of national and international conferences.
Lisa holds a bachelor’s degree from the College of Saint Mary’s in Omaha, Nebraska, and a master of science in educational administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She has participated in a leadership development institute and mentor teacher program as well as Spanish immersion programs in Cuernavaca, Mexico.
