Holen Sabrina Kahn
Holen Sabrina Kahn, MFA, is a filmmaker, editor and educator. As director for educational innovation at the JBFC, she collaborated on creating curriculum for F–12 and adult education that redefines literacy in the 21st century. Previous to her work with JBFC, she taught film production, theory and history at various institutions.
An award-winning filmmaker, Holen’s work spans multiple forms including experimental, site-specific and documentary works. Since 1998, she has collaborated with Spanish filmmaker Alessandra Zeka to produce human-rights-based documentary films, including the internationally screened and distributed Te Dürosh about three generations of women in Albania and Harsh Beauty about transgendered communities in India. She is currently co-directing and producing the feature documentary A Quiet Inquisition.
