Dr Ross Mars began his career as a senior secondary school science teacher, writing and co-writing a number of books about science and technology.
Over the last twenty years, he has worked in the water industry, focusing on wastewater treatment and re-use. He has presented papers at a number of international conferences, both in Australia and overseas, and has had several papers published in scientific journals.
Ross is one of the most authoritative permaculture teachers, designers and consultants in Australia, authoring three books on the subject as well as other resources on energy-efficient housing design and renewable energy systems for power generation.
More recently, Ross has developed and introduced the new accredited permaculture courses in Western Australia, including Certificate I and Certificate II VET programs for schools and community groups as well as all courses up to the diploma level in permaculture.
Ross maintains a strong interest in preparing people for the transition to sustainable living, especially as we move into a challenging and uncertain future, and he continues to work as an educator and author.
