Bryan Goodwin

As vice president of communications, marketing, and new business at McREL, Bryan is responsible for managing internal and external communications, including media relations. Prior to joining McREL, he was a journalist, high school teacher, and college instructor. He holds an M.A. in rhetoric and communication studies from the University of Virginia and a B.A. in professional writing, environmental studies, from Baylor University.

Bryan Goodwin is Chief Operating Offi cer at McREL, a Denver-based nonprofi t education research and development organization. A former teacher and award- winning journalist, he writes a monthly research column for Educational Leadership magazine. His previous books include Simply Better: Doing What Matters Most to Change the Odds for Student Success and The Future of Schooling: Educating America in 2020, for which he was the lead author. He has presented research fi ndings and insights to audiences across the United States and in Canada and Australia. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Baylor University and a master’s from the University of Virginia.
