Cheryl Lemke

Cheryl Lemke, an author and a consultant, specialises in public policy for P–12 learning technology, working at a variety of levels with governors, legislators, superintendents, business leaders and teachers. Her 25 years of experience in the public sector includes service as a teacher, technology director, policy expert at a national education laboratory and cabinet member at a state education agency.

Cheryl served at the cabinet level for the Illinois State Board of Education where she administered a $60 million budget. During her tenure, she initiated and directed the development of a $40 million state technology backbone for Illinois P–12 schools and ensured the inclusion of 21st century skills in the Illinois Learning Standards. She left the public sector to serve as executive director for the Milken Exchange on Educational Technology.

Cheryl was a keynote presenter at the National Education Technology Conference in Washington, DC, in June 2009, and she has presented at the state, national and international levels.

Cheryl is author of the annual “National Trends Report” and the architect of three national frameworks on educational technology and 21st century learning that are used in thousands of schools.
