Authors

Hawker Brownlow Education is always looking for exciting, unique, teacher-friendly materials. Perhaps you have developed your own techniques or approach in the classroom that you already share with teachers? Consider how your hard work could become a book.

Submitting your manuscript
When you are preparing your proposal, here are a few basic points to consider:

- have a look at the About Us page to make sure your material is suitable for us to publish
- fill out the Author Proposal Form and send it to us with your manuscript
- supply both a hard copy and an electronic copy of your manuscript
- make sure your electronic manuscript is in Microsoft Word
- supply samples of any artwork you would like included in the book
- and don't forget to always keep a copy of anything you send to us.

We also prefer that your materials have been tested in the classroom by yourself and, if possible, by other teachers – as many as possible!

Having your proposal accepted
There is no set period for assessing manuscripts. As a minimum, the process will usually take three to four months. If your material closely matches our publishing requirements, we will carefully consider your proposal. We will also investigate costs and the book’s market potential. If your manuscript is accepted, we will forward you a copy of our contract for your review.
